"Mir možemo stvoriti samo ako ga osjetimo duboko u nama" poruka je primjenjiva i u današnjem narativu, a prisjetivši se na pokojnu predsjednicu EDVU, Ljiljanu Gehrecke, izrekla ju je izvršna direktorica EDVU, Dijana Antunović Lazić, poručivši kako tek završetkom počinje mirna reintegracija. Da su građani Vukovara zainteresirani za razgovor o miru dokazuje činjenica da se tražilo mjesto više u velikoj dvorani Gradskoj muzeja Vukovar u kojem je jučer obilježena 26. obljetnica mirne reintegracije hrvatskog Podunavlja. Posjetiteljima su se porukama mira obratili i direktorica Zaklade Friedrich Ebert u Zagrebu, dr. Sonja Schirmbeck, te njemački veleposlanik u RH, dr. Christian Hellbach. Također, zamišljena kao početak istraživanja onih koji kreću u potragu, Blanka Smoljan, projektna koordinatorica Zaklade Friedrich Ebert u Zagrebu, i Barbara Matejčić, novinarka, predstavile su novu web stranicu posvećenu upravo veličanstvenoj mirnoj reintegraciji: www.mirna-reintegracija.info Kroz format "žive knjižnice" koji je moderirala Maja Buljubašić, Europski dom Vukovar, razgovaralo se o mirnoj reintegraciji i miru kao rješenju za dobrosusjedske odnose. U živoj knjižnici su sudjelovali: ▪️ Biljana Gaća, iz Vukovara ▪️ Gorana Kušić, iz Vukovara ▪️ Slađana Trbulin, iz Vukovara ▪️ Manda Prišling, mirovna aktivisticu iz Sombora ▪️ Azir Osmanović, kustos Memorijalnog centra Potočari iz Srebrenice. Odsustvo rata jedan je od nepobitnih dokaza važnosti mira, a upravo je na njemu važno raditi svakodnevno i intenzivno zato što je, riječima Antunović Lazić, jedino uvažavanjem svakog pojedinca moguće stvoriti stabilnu zajednicu.
