Applications for autumn volunteering are now open!

Volunteering at the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Zagreb is recommended for students and graduates of the Faculty of Political Science, Law, or Economics, as well as for anyone interested in political engagement in the spirit of social democracy.

There is an opportunity to volunteer at the Friedrich Ebert Foundation office in Zagreb. If you are interested in volunteering, please send us your CV (in Croatian) and a motivation letter (in English or German) to: tijana.defar@fes.de.

What are the requirements?
The requirements for volunteering at the Foundation are fluent knowledge of Croatian and English or German, as well as good computer skills and competencies.

How long does the volunteer work last?
Volunteering at the FES office in Zagreb usually lasts between eight and twelve weeks. If needed, the duration can be adjusted by agreement.

What tasks can volunteers expect?
Volunteer tasks are adapted to the current needs of the office. They generally include:

  • Supporting the planning, organization, and implementation of seminars and conferences

  • Writing reports and protocols

  • Online research and supporting social media activities

Is it paid?
Volunteering at the FES office is unpaid. At the end of your volunteer work, in addition to valuable experience, you will receive a qualified certificate of your work at the Friedrich Ebert Foundation office.

What else is important?
The Foundation cannot cover the costs of necessary insurance (e.g., insurance for staying abroad or mandatory insurance for accidents or damages).
