Dr. Sonja Schirmbeck

Dr. Sonja Schirmbeck has been the director of the FES Office for Croatia and Slovenia since July 2021. Before moving to Zagreb, she was the Regional Coordinator for Climate and Energy Policies for FES Department in Asia located in Vietnam and Department for Eastern Europe in Berlin.

Ružica Budimir

Ružica Budimir has been working at Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung since 2000. She is person for finance and accounting at the Zagreb Office. Ružica’s life principles are: justice, equality, and punctuality.

Tijana Defar

Tijana Defar is one of the co-founders of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Office in Croatia, which was established in 1996. Her main focus is promoting democracy. She is currently working on projects in Croatia and Slovenia which promote social democracy.

Ivan Puh

Ivan Puh joined Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung in 2025. His primary focus are projects connected to socio-ecological transformation, cooperation with trade unions, and promoting democracy. Outside of FES, Ivan likes to research ancient cultures and civilizations, as well as learn new languages.

Bruno Korica

Bruno Korica has been working at Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung since 2025 as a coordinator for projects and public relations in the FES Zagreb Office, as well as communications coordinator for FES Offices in the European Union and North America.
