Who can apply?

We recommend volunteering at FES to students and graduates of Political Science, Law, or Economics, as well as others who have an interest in political action in the spirit of social democracy.

What are the requirements?

The requirement for volunteering at Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung is fluency in Croatian and German or English, as well as good computer skills and competences.

How long does the volunteering last?

Volunteering at the FES Office in Zagreb usually lasts between eight and twelve weeks. However, the duration of the work can be agreed upon if needed.

What tasks can our volunteers expect?

The tasks of the volunteers are adapted to the current work in the Office. These generally include the following:

  • support in the conceptualization, organization, and implementation of seminars and conferences, as well as participation in them
  • drafting reports and protocols
  • Internet research, and support with social media

Can I earn money? What else is there for me?

FES offers certain honorary fees for its volunteers. Upon completion of the volunteer work, in addition to gaining valuable experience, you will receive a qualified certificate about your work at the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Zagreb Office.

What else is important?

We are unable to accept volunteers from June to August. Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung cannot cover the costs of necessary insurances (e.g., insurance for staying abroad, mandatory insurance for various accidents or damages).
