Events News Bled Strategic Forum: Opportunities in Diversity 03.09.2025 At the 20th anniversary edition of the Bled Strategic Forum, we hosted a panel discussion on migration, integration, and the opportunities in diversity. Migration is often portrayed negatively, creating fear and division. The panelists, however, highlighted its positive aspects, such as the contribution of foreign workers and the enrichment of cultural life. At the same time, they warned about the growing influence of populists, whose problematic narratives increase citizens’ sense of insecurity and strengthen nationalist agendas. The shift in the discourse on migration, together with the electoral success of right-wing populist parties, poses a risk to citizens on an individual level and a threat to the stability of democratic systems and the protection of human rights. During the session, the speakers shared their professional insights and personal experiences: Manuela Bojadžijev, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Germany Mercedes Miletti, European Trade Union Confederation Inga Remeta, Slovensko mladinsko gledališče Oleg Rogoza, Ukrainian activist The discussion was moderated by Bruno Korica, from the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Croatia and Slovenia. We thank the panelists, as well as the collaborators from the Bled Strategic Forum, for their trust. Video recording is available on this link: https://youtu.be/m8qM9XVKbGQ?si=3i6-OpalbK-yMkj8
