Events In Split, we are presenting the Handbook for Workers in Primary School Institutions. 30.09.2026 On the first day of the month dedicated to the teaching profession, the Croatian Teachers’ Union (SHU), in cooperation with the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Zagreb, will present the Handbook for Workers in Primary School Institutions The presentation will take place on 1 October 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at Hotel Briig Split. The Handbook is the result of cooperation between the SHU Union and FES and is intended for everyone who wishes to contribute to the successful operation of school institutions through high-quality social dialogue, including union representatives, Union members and other school employees, principals, and school founders. “Together with Teachers: Sixty Years of Protecting and Advancing the Teaching Profession and Shaping Our Future” is this year's theme of World Teachers’ Day, which we mark on 5 October in commemoration of UNESCO’s 1966 Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers. What is the status of teachers today? How can we work together to improve social dialogue at the school level? How can we protect and advance the rights of employees in school institutions? These are just some of the topics that will be discussed during the presentation of the Handbook and in conversation with its authors. All places for participation have been filled, and registration is no longer possible.
